Investment Fund welcomes new manager

South Yorkshire Investment Fund (SYIF) has appointed John Longstaff as an Investment Manager on its Capital and Development Funds.
John has joined the team having previously worked in corporate finance at Grant Thornton and latterly at Strategic Corporate Finance.
John said: "I am really looking forward to joining SYIF having worked with various members of the team in my previous roles."
"As an Investment Manager I will be appraising business opportunities for equity linked investments as well as negotiating terms of our investments. I am keen to widen my expertise and help businesses to unlock their potential with the aid of SYIF finance."
John, aged 32, is originally from Bishop Auckland, County Durham and moved to Sheffield to attend University and has lived in the city for 14 years.
He added: "I enjoy living in South Yorkshire and I am delighted to have joined SYIF."

About South Yorkshire Investment Fund
South Yorkshire Investment Fund provided seedcorn, loan and equity linked investments, ranging from £15k to £2.5m, specifically to help small and medium businesses meet the gaps in funding they need for growth and development.
Created as part of the Objective 1 programme, the Fund is a private and public sector business finance provider. The European Regional Development Fund and Yorkshire Forward are investors in the Fund.
South Yorkshire Investment Fund also provided access to Business Angel investments from the Yorkshire Association of Business Angels and Microloans through BiG Business Loan Fund and Donbac Microloan Fund.
Finance Yorkshire has now taken on responsibility for providing gap finance in Yorkshire and the Humber.
