New Chairman for SYIF's Partners Group

Paul Firth has been appointed as the chairman of South Yorkshire Investment Fund's Partners Group.
Mr Firth, the office managing partner at lawyers DLA in Sheffield, will chair the Partners Group which offers guidance and strategy advice to South Yorkshire Investment Fund.
He said: "I am aware of the excellent work that is being carried out in the region by SYIF and look forward to undertaking this interesting and important role."
Tony Goulbourn, Chief Executive of South Yorkshire Investment Fund Ltd, said: "We are delighted that someone as experienced as Paul has joined the Partners Group. I am sure he will bring an extra dimension to the team."
Mr Firth is also chairman of the Children's Appeal, which is the charity raising money for Sheffield Children's Hospital. In his spare time he enjoys golf, cricket, cooking and wine.
Born and bred in Sheffield Mr Firth now lives in Hathersage in the Peak District with his wife Clare and three-year-old daughter Grace.

About South Yorkshire Investment Fund
South Yorkshire Investment Fund provided seedcorn, loan and equity linked investments, ranging from £15k to £2.5m, specifically to help small and medium businesses meet the gaps in funding they need for growth and development.
Created as part of the Objective 1 programme, the Fund is a private and public sector business finance provider. The European Regional Development Fund and Yorkshire Forward are investors in the Fund.
South Yorkshire Investment Fund also provided access to Business Angel investments from the Yorkshire Association of Business Angels and Microloans through BiG Business Loan Fund and Donbac Microloan Fund.
Finance Yorkshire has now taken on responsibility for providing gap finance in Yorkshire and the Humber.
