SYIF Profile Winter 2009 Newsletter

Dear Reader,

Welcome to what is the 25th edition of Profile.

May I firstly wish you a very Merry Christmas and best wishes for 2010!

As we approach the end of the year, it feels an appropriate time to look back at what has been a turbulent 12 months.

In this special issue of the newsletter, we not only look back at the last year of the Fund, but take a glance at SYIF in its entirety since being launched eight years ago.

When we sit down and assess what SYIF has achieved during this time - how many companies it has supported, what has been invested and the amount of jobs created or safeguarded – it is quite staggering to see what has been achieved.

SYIF can attribute its achievements to a number of factors, but one of the key elements has been our relationship with intermediaries. It is the partnerships we have developed with so many organisations and individuals from the finance sector which has enabled businesses to become aware of the Fund and the support open to them.

I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank all those intermediaries who have played their role in this.

As always, the newsletter continues to highlight the investments made in South Yorkshire. In this edition the leading story is on a Rotherham-based company, Wright Printing Services, which is based on the Hellaby Industrial Estate and recently received the first tranche of a planned £500,000 investment from SYIF.

I hope you enjoy reading this newsletter.

Have a great Christmas and a happy New Year.

Regards

Tony Goulbourn
Chief Executive
South Yorkshire Investment Fund
